Numerous representatives of the press, exhibitors, and invited guests from the international classic car scene gathered at the East Entrance of Messe Essen to get a first glimpse of the concept, highlights, and special shows at the trade fair premiere.

During a pre-press conference moderated by Martin Utberg, host of the TV show “Top Speed Classic,” the organizers and industry representatives provided initial insights into the special shows and highlights of the trade fair. The discussion partners included the two managing directors Henning and Thilo Könicke, Adrian Derr (project manager RETRO CLASSICS ESSEN®) and Oliver P. Kuhrt (managing director of Messe Essen).

The panel was complemented by renowned exhibitors at the motor culture trade fair, such as Rik Hettema (Munsterhuis Sportscars), Eric van Lammeren (initiator of the special exhibition “100 Years of Bugatti Royal”), Ferry Franz (ADAC Westfalen), Thomas Ernst (Porsche 356 Club Deutschland e.V.), and Stefan Katzer (Colors of Racing).

Following the pre-press conference, the pre-opening event continued into an evening reception with invited guests. Accompanied by live music from the band ComboCombo and culinary specialties and drinks, the press representatives, exhibitors, and partners in attendance took the opportunity to exchange ideas and network. The pre-opening thus offered a preview of the special atmosphere that visitors can expect in April at the premiere of RETRO CLASSICS ESSEN®.
